The Blythe Park PTA Schwan’s Fundraiser is in full swing!   The Schwan’s Fundraiser will run from March 7th – April 21st.  On all orders placed by April 21th, 20% of the product and 40% of eGift Card sales will go back to Blythe Park PTA.  The next delivery date is April 11th.  Place your order by April 10th for delivery on the 11th.

New rummage sale date! Sale happening on April 13th. Send donated items by April 12th

Blythe Park Student Council is having a Spring Clean Up Rummage Sale on Wednesday, April 13th.  They are in need of your gently used toys, games, stuffed animals and dress-up clothes.  Please send all your rummage sale donations to school by Tuesday, April 12rummage saleth.

  • All Blythe Park Students will be able to shop at the rummage during lunch recess
  • Kindergarten may shop with an adult helper anytime between 11:30am-12:00pm
  • Students going home for lunch may shop from 12:15pm-12:30pm
  • All items will cost $1.00 (There will be no limit on how many items a student by buy or spend)
  • Students may bring cash only to school on Wednesday, April 6th

All proceeds will benefit the whole school field trip to the Brookfield Zoo in June.

    
 

Raging Waves fitness logs due next Monday, April 11th.

raging-waves-21Illinois largest waterpark, Raging Waves Waterpark, located in Yorkville is offering a fitness program for kids.

Children are invited to Plunge into Fitness this spring as Raging Waves Waterpark joins the battle against childhood obesity. The fitness initiative runs now through April 11th, and each child completing the program requirements during this time period will receive a free Raging Waves full day admission pass.

The Plunge into fitness program requires a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise each day, which totals 25 hours for the seven week period. Any activity that increases heart rate qualifies including: walking, running, biking, playing team sports, skateboarding, swimming, jumping rope and hopscotch. The fitness log that needs to be completed is attached. Once complete, a parent will sign it and the child will turn it into the school office by April 11th.

The Science Fair is coming. Start thinking of your ideas now!

Bring out the scientist in your child and be a part of the Blythe Park’s Science Fair to be held at 6:30pm on Thursday, April 28th prior to Spring Open House.  Now is the time to start thinking about your science experiment idea.  RSVPs are due Friday, April 22nd.  Look for all the sign-up details in next week’s Happenings.

Need to Know Details:

Students will conduct their own science experiment at home to either display or demonstrate at the Science Fair. Each student’s display will be set-up on a card table. There will be no judging. Each student will receive a participation award. Students may work individually or in a group of no more than two students. Each participating student will be required to follow the five steps of the Scientific Method and complete and bring the Scientific Method worksheet with their experiment. Participation is optional.

Note date change for Bulls Sox Academy all school field trip

Blythe Park School will be going on an all school field trip to the Bull Sox Academy on Friday, April 22nd.   Please note, this is a date change from the District calendar which has it listed on April 6th.  More details to follow on this event.  Please mark your calendars of this date change.

The Firehouse Subs Reading Program is here!

The Firehouse Subs Reading program is here!  Have your child read five books and your child will receive a free kids combo at the Firehouse Subs location located at 3124 W. North Ave in Stone Park, IL.   The kids combo includes a kid-sized sub, kid’s drink, dessert and even a cool fire hat.   Make sure to use the book marks that were sent home in your child’s backpack.
