Purchase one class or two-class pass at $10 per class. Please register online by clicking the Cheddar Up button. Pay online or send cash/check to the school office with “Girls Yoga” on the envelope and child’s name. (Please make checks payable to Blythe Park PTA.)

Library Reader/Helper times available for Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Grade

imageVolunteer spots are now available for January through May to help Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Grade students during their library time. *Please only signup for two spots maximum until everyone has an opportunity to signup.

Volunteers for Kindergarten will have the opportunity to read to the students. Volunteers for 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade will help students find books for check out and then have the opportunity to read to the students. Please click on the button below to sign-up:

Kids Tae Kwon Do class this Thursday. Class online reservation deadline is Wednesday.

imageKids Tae Kwon Do will be held on Thursday from 3:00-3:45pm in the Blythe Park Gym for all students in K-5th Grade. *Weekly class reservation deadline is Wednesday. You must signup to participate.

Purchase one class OR four class pass at $10 per class. Also, there is a special offer of a 14 class pass for $130 (13 classes at $10 and one class FREE). Please sign up by clicking on the Cheddar Up button. Pay online or send cash/check to the school office with “Kids Tae Kwon Do” on the envelope and child’s name. (Please make checks payable to Blythe Park PTA.)

PTA Meeting this Thursday, January 19th at 8:30am

imageThe Blythe Park PTA January meeting will be this Thursday, January 19th at 8:30am in the lunchroom. Please join us to hear about all the programs taking place. Refreshments will be served. We hope you can join us!

Voting to include the Communications Officer position on the 2017-2018 PTA Executive Board slate will take place during this meeting. Following is a description of the Communications Officer responsibilities for the general membership to review.

ARTICLE VII DUTIES OF OFFICERS
Section 5
Communications Officer
In addition to the duties in the bylaws, the Communications Officer shall:
a. Be responsible for maintaining website, including writing, editing, coding site content and ensuring it is up to date and relevant. Maintain site standards with regard to new development.
b. Produce a weekly newsletter during the school year.
c. Monitor and maintain the PTA’s email account and maintain its contact lists
d. Send reminders and last call emails based in newsletter content.
e. Maintain Google Drive and educate the PTA Board on its use.
f. Create, distribute and manage surveys, forms, sign ups, fliers for PTA events and communications.
g. Manage online payments systems
h. Give a 2 year minimum commitment to this position and train replacement

Volunteers needed to serve on this year’s Nominating Committee.

image35589The PTA Executive Board is looking for volunteers to fill the two general member and one alternate general member slots on the Nominating Committee.

The Nominating Committee will develop the slate of candidates for the 2017-2018 PTA Executive Board.  The proposed slate will be presented at the March PTA Meeting, then voted on during the April meeting.

Dinner out at Culver’s on Wednesday, January 25th to support Hauser’s Cougar Buddies.

imageIf you’ll be eating out this week, please consider dining at Culver’s in Lyons on Wednesday, January 25th from 4:30-7:30pm to help support Hauser’s Cougar Buddies Club. Ten percent of your purchase will go towards supporting the club.

The Cougar Buddies Club serves to connect students with disabilities and their peers through friendships and a variety of activities.

Hot Lunch is Friday, January, 27th . Make online reservations by Wednesday January 25th.

hot-lunchTreat your kid(s) to a hot lunch and treat yourself to a day off from packing lunches!

Hot Lunch is Friday, January 27th. The menu will include: slice of cheese pizza, seasonal fruit, cookie and a drink. The cost per child is $5.00. To register your child(ren) click on the CheddarUp button below.

You can pay for the Hot Lunch Fundraiser online OR send cash or check (payable to Blythe Park PTA) to the school office with your family name and “Hot Lunch” written on the envelope. You can pay for the remainder of the year or single lunches.

*PLEASE NOTE – All children must be registered online by clicking on the Cheddar Up button below no matter your payment method (cash, check or credit)

Participate in the Six Flags “Read to Suceed” Program for a FREE admission ticket.

imageLog your recreational reading hours and participate in the Six Flags “Read to Succeed” Program to receive one free admission ticket to a participating Six Flags Theme Park this summer.

Every Blythe Park student who completes six hours of recreational reading and submits a signed reading log by FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 10th will receive one free admission ticket to a participating Six Flags Theme Park this summer.

STUDENTS: Read for fun for a total of 6 hours, log your time and have your parent/guardian sign the reading log.

PARENTS/GUARDIANS: Print the reading log listed below and help track your child’s reading. Then sign the form and send it back to school or email to the School Coordinator, Michelle Ruska at mbulir@aol.com

Keep clipping Box Tops to win a pizza party for your child’s class!

imageThe class with the highest number of valid Box Tops submitted through February 24, 2017 will win a Pizza Party for their class. A poster tracking the results is posted outside the office. *NOTE: Expired Box Tops will not count towards the contest totals.

Box Tops can be turned in to the office at anytime, either on the following monthly Box Top collection sheet or in a baggie/envelope with the student’s name and grade. Box Tops – Collection Sheet

A few friendly reminders:

  • Please submit only valid/unexpired Box Tops. Unfortunately, the largest number of Box Tops has been expired Box Tops. Only valid/unexpired Box Tops can be submitted for credit.
  • Please be sure to include students name/grade on either the monthly Box Tops sheet, an envelope or baggie.  Box Tops can be turned in to the office at any time.
