Blythe Park PTA Happenings 09/18/2017

The Blythe Park Teachers and Staff have generously donated raffle items for the students as part of the Blythe Park Rainbow Run Fundraiser. All funds raised will help the PTA support ongoing programs such as author visits, assemblies and more.

Students have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets BEFORE and AFTER school this week AND at the Rainbow Run this Friday. The more tickets you buy for each item, the better your chances to win! Students may buy more than one raffle ticket per item and buy tickets for as many items as they like.

WHEN: Monday, Sept. 18th – Friday, Sept. 22nd
*Purchase tickets before and after school and at the Rainbow Run.

COST (cash only): One ticket for $1, Six tickets for $5
*NOTE – Parents of younger students, please indicate which raffle item your student is buying tickets for on an envelope with cash enclosed.

There are still openings available in Session One of the Kids Yoga and Kids TaeKwonDo classes. Registration for Session 1 will close this week.

*NO single class passes will be available this year. You must register for the entire session.

Kids Yoga
Stephanie Roldan from Blissful Owl bring KIDS Yoga back to Blythe Park. Classes will be held every Wednesday from 3:00-3:45pm in the Blythe Park Gym for boys and girls in Kindergarten – 5th Grade.

*NOTE: NO single class passes will be available this year. You must sign up for the entire session. (Also, no prorating, no make-up days unless the instructor needs to reschedule, no refunds.)

Kids TaeKwonDo
Vinson Villena, owner of Flying V Athletic Center, is bringing TaeKwonDo back to Blythe Park. Classes will be held every Thursday from 3:00-3:45pm in the Blythe Park Gym for all students in Kindergarten – 5th Grade.

Uniform (Dobuk) is optional. Purchase information will be handed out during class.

The Rainbow Run will take place this Friday, September 22nd. Check-in is at 5pm.

How does it work?
Wear your Blythe Park Rainbow Run T-shirt.(t-shirts will be distributed several days before the run.) The Run will start at 5:30pm. Participants will run laps around Blythe Park school, past stations where they will be sprayed by color (food coloring and water) to decorate their t-shirts. By the end of the run, everyone will be wearing their own original “masterpiece of art.”

Family Fun Night – after the Rainbow Run
After the Run, stay for the Ice Cream Social (6:30-7:30pm), music, dancing, games and tons of other fun activities for everyone to enjoy. *Pizza and drinks will be available for purchase.

Treat your kid(s) to a hot lunch and treat yourself to a day off from packing lunches!

On Friday, September 29th, Blythe Park PTA will be holding the first Hot Lunch Fundraiser for the year. The menu will include: slice of cheese pizza, seasonal fruit, a treat and a drink. The cost per child is $5.00. Similar to last year, you will be able to pay for the entire year or single lunches.

Reservation deadline is Wednesday, September 27th.

If paying by cash or check (payable to Blythe Park PTA) please place payment in an envelope marked with your family name and “Hot Lunch” and bring to the school office.
