Blythe Park PTA Happenings 10/16/2017

This THURSDAY is the deadline to buy tickets for Comedian Pat McGann!

Chicago native Pat McGann is a stand-up comedian, a television host, and a regular on stage at Zanies! In 2015, he made his second appearance on “The Late Show with David Letterman.” Pat created and hosted the Emmy nominated television show “The Chicago Stand Up Project” and has promised Riverside a night of laughs on October 20th!

• Date: Friday, October 20th
• Doors will open at 7pm.
• Show will begin a 8pm with a comedian opener before Pat comes on stage.
• 50/50 Raffle
• Cash bar throughout the evening.
• Food tent (cash only): appetizers and finger food
• Location: Riverside Golf Club, 2520 Desplaines Ave, North Riverside
• Cost: $20 per ticket *Everyone is welcome! You do not have to have a student at Blythe Park to purchase tickets.

Volunteer spots for parent/guardian helpers are still available this Wednesday and Thursday for Cardio Kids.

Helpers can sign-up to hand out lap markers or patrol the course to ensure student safety.

There will be a short orientation meeting next Wednesday for everyone interested in volunteering to shelve books in the library.

Kids Yoga
Stephanie Roldan from Blissful Owl will hold classes every Wednesday from 3:00-3:45pm in the Blythe Park Gym for boys and girls in Kindergarten – 5th Grade.

*NOTE: NO single class passes will be available this year. You must sign up for the entire session. (Also, no prorating, no make-up days unless the instructor needs to reschedule, no refunds.)

**Session 1 Yoga classes end next Wednesday, October 25th.

Wednesdays, 3:00-3:45pm
November 1st – December 13th (6 weeks, no class 11/22)

Kids TaeKwonDo
Vinson Villena, owner of Flying V Athletic Center, will hold TaeKwonDo classes every Thursday from 3:00-3:45pm in the Blythe Park Gym for all students in Kindergarten – 5th Grade.

Uniform (Dobuk) is optional. Purchase information will be handed out during class.

*NOTE: NO single class passes will be available this year. You must sign up for the entire session. (Also, no prorating, no make-up days unless the instructor needs to reschedule, no refunds.)

**Session 1 TaeKwonDo classes end next Thursday, October 26th.

Treat your kid(s) to a hot lunch and treat yourself to a day off from packing lunches!

Hot Lunch is next Friday, October 27th. The menu will include: a slice of cheese pizza, seasonal fruit, a treat and a drink. The cost per child is $5.00. (You can pay for the remainder of the year or single lunches.)

If paying by cash or check (payable to Blythe Park PTA) please place payment in an envelope marked with your family name and “Hot Lunch” and bring to the school office.
