The Student Garden Club will have it’s first meeting TOMORROW, April 17th.

The Blythe Park Garden Club for 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade students will have it’s first meeting TOMORROW (Tuesday, April 17th) from 11:25am – 12:15pm in Mrs. Bryan’s room.

Meetings will take place in April on Tuesdays and Thursdays:
April 17, 19, 24, 26

Mrs. Bryan and Mrs. Sayre will help students research flowers and plants for the Blythe Park Butterfly Garden. Students will be weeding and planting the garden!

*NOTE: Remember to bring your lunch.

Cardio Kids – Volunteer spots available.


Volunteer spots for parent/guardian helpers are available Wednesdays and Thursdays for Cardio Kids.

Helpers can sign-up to hand out lap markers or patrol the course to ensure student safety.

Young Author Books on display at the Riverside Library starting TODAY!

The Blythe Park 2018 Young Author Books will be on display starting today from April 16th – April 23rd at the Riverside Public Library in the children’s section.

*Note – There will not be a reception this year.

Hot Lunch reservations due Wednesday.

Treat your kid(s) to a hot lunch and treat yourself to a day off from packing lunches!

Hot Lunch is this Friday, April 20th. The menu will include: a slice of cheese pizza, seasonal fruit, a treat and a drink. The cost per child is $5.00. (You can pay for the remainder of the year or single lunches.)

If paying by cash or check (payable to Blythe Park PTA) please place payment in an envelope marked with your family name and “Hot Lunch” and bring to the school office.

Bring out the scientist in your child and be a part of the PTA Science Fair on Thursday, April 26th at 5:30pm (prior to Spring Open House).

Need to Know Details –

  • Students will conduct their own science experiments and create their display board at home.
  • Students may work individually or in a group of no more than two students.
  • Each student’s display will be setup on a card table in the gym.
  • There will be no judging.
  • Participation is optional.
  • Each student will receive a participation award.

Display Boards Available –
Half-size display boards will be available for purchase in the office from the PTA for $2.

PTA Bylaws – Changes approved/updated by the PTA District Council.

PTA BYLAWS
To keep our PTA in good standing, bylaws must be updated and submitted every two years.  The following changes and updates were approved by the PTA District Council:

  1. Article V – Membership, Section 10.#b – Dues were increased last year to $2.25, this section was updated to reflect the new due amount per person.
  2. Article VI – Officers and Their Election, Section 2.d. – A person shall not be eligible to serve more than three (3) consecutive terms in the same office except the treasurer position which is limited to two (2) consecutive terms.

The PTA is looking for a VP (or co-VPs) of Fundraising.

We need your help! The Blythe Park PTA is in need of a Vice President (OR co-Vice Presidents) of Fundraising for the 2018-2019 school year. As a board member, you can make an even greater difference at Blythe Park School!

Following are the VP of Fundraising responsibilities. If you’re interested in this position, please contact one of the Nominating Committee members listed below.

Third Vice President – Fundraising
Responsibilities include:

  1. Work with the Board to review current Fundraising Events and Programs (i.e. profitability, number of people required, etc.).
    *This year’s events and programs included: Adult Social/Comedy Night, Bake Sale, Box Tops, Dinner Out, Direct Donation, Hot Lunch, Rainbow Run, Scholastic Book Fair, Spa Day, Spirit Wear, TaeKwonDo and Yoga Classes.
  2. Research new ideas and make suggestions to the Board for new Fundraising Events and Programs.
    *For example, this year’s new events were Comedy Night, Rainbow Run and Spa Day.
  3. Work with the Treasurer to prepare budget recommendations for the upcoming year’s Fundraising Events.
  4. Work with the Board to prepare calendar dates for the upcoming year’s Fundraising Events.
  5. Assist the Board in finding chairpersons for Fundraising Events and Programs.
  6. Oversee and act as point person for chairpersons organizing Fundraising Events and Programs.
  7. Attend Executive Board and General Membership Meetings. Keep the Board informed of Fundraising activities.
