Blythe Park PTA Happenings 09/24/2018

Parent helpers are needed during Picture Day on Tuesday (September 25th).

Parent helpers assist the photographer in making sure that pictures are taken in an orderly fashion. Helpers also make sure kids look their best by straightening outfits and smoothing little hairdos. Here are some of the things parent helpers can keep an eye on so every photo turns out great:

• Clothing: buttons are buttoned and collars lie flat.
• Accessories: Straighten hair clips and make sure jewelry clasps are behind the neck.
• Hair and face: Check that hair is neat and noses and faces are clean.

Register for Hot Lunch by this Wednesday!

NOTE – If you have not registered your student by this Wednesday (September 26th), they will NOT have the opportunity to register again for Hot Lunch until the next payment period in December.

*ATTENTION – This year, payment options will only be available in the following three month increments OR for the entire year. Single lunch payments will NOT be available this year. Also, no prorating, no make-up days, no refunds.

2018-2019 Hot Lunch PAYMENT Schedule –

• PAYMENT #1 Deadline: Wednesday, Sept. 26th for
  September, October, and November ($15 per student for 3 lunches) OR Entire Year($45 per student for 9 lunches)
• PAYMENT #2 Deadline: Wednesday, Dec. 12th for
  December, January, and February ($15 per student for 3 lunches)
• PAYMENT #3 Deadline: Wednesday, March 13th
  March, April, and May ($15 per student for 3 lunches)

Hot Lunch will be served by the PTA once a month starting this Friday, September 28th. The Hot Lunch menu will include: a slice of cheese pizza, seasonal fruit, a treat and a drink.

If paying by cash or check (payable to Blythe Park PTA) please place payment in an envelope marked with your family name and “Hot Lunch” and bring to the school office.*NOTE – This program is only for children that have the option of staying at school for lunch.

Calling all dramatic parents! We are in need of parent volunteers for this year’s Halloween production!

Be a part of a unique Blythe Park tradition! Blythe Park parents/guardians will perform a short play for students during their Halloween celebration on Wednesday, October 31st. (The students love seeing their family members onstage and look forward to the play every year!)

Volunteer to help paint brightly colored games and activities on the Blythe Park parking lot black top!

This project is coordinated by a local Girl Scout earning her Silver Award. To complete her project she needs adult and student volunteers (5th grade and older only) to help paint stencils of games and activities on the parking lot black top.

*NOTE: Painting supplies, stencils and instruction will be provided.

Cardio Kids will begin it’s fall session next Wednesday, October 3rd.

Students in Grades K-5 are encouraged to join Ms. Gorman, Mr. Bartelt and Mrs. Rehor on Wednesdays and Thursdays for a morning walk, jog, or run.

*NOTE: All parents/guardians are welcome to participate but parents/guardians of students in kindergarten and first grade MUST be present to walk or run with their child.

The mission of this club is to meet students at their fitness level and show them how to develop stamina, strength and speed. Other goals of the club include building friendships and a strong school community.

Students will meet every Wednesday and Thursday morning from 7:45am – 8:05am where they will walk or run the Blythe Park Walking Path (warm-up begins in the gymnasium).
