Election Day Bake Sale Tomorrow – Volunteers Needed!

The Blythe Park PTA Election Day Bake Sale will be held TOMORROW (Tuesday, April 2nd).

*NOTE – Students will be allowed to purchase treats after school so bring your spare change!

It's not too late to volunteer! The PTA is looking for volunteers to bake and help run the sale throughout the day.

5th Grade Games Night Friday – 4 Volunteers still needed!

5th Grade Blythe Park Parents/Guardians

The 5th Grade Games Night committee needs your help! We can't run Games Night on FRIDAY without you!

Four (4) Blythe Park volunteers are still needed to make this night run smoothly and fun for everyone –

  • Game Leaders (3) – Run the “Stack the Cups” game

5th Grade Games Night is on Friday, April 5th from 5:45-8:30pm at Hauser Junior High.

5th Grade Games Night is a great opportunity for your 5th grade student to experience Hauser and help ease the transition to junior high. It's also a fun way for the kids to meet their future classmates.

The students are grouped into teams with kids from all the D96 elementary schools. They will travel around Hauser with their team and play games in different areas (library, gym, cafeteria, etc).

Parks & Rec After-School Programs – Register TODAY for Spring Sessions

Riverside Parks and Rec After-School Spring Sessions at Blythe Park will begin NEXT WEEK.

NOTE: Registration deadline is 5 days prior to the class start date.

The Riverside Parks and Rec after-school spring classes:

  • Give Artfully
  • Stage Stars
  • Chess Scholars

Classes will take place directly after school from 3-4pm.

Library Readers needed this week for Kindergarten AM and PM.

Volunteer spots are available this Wednesday to help AM and PM Kindergarten during their library time.

Volunteers for Kindergarten will have the opportunity to read to the students.

Volunteers for 1st and 2nd grade will help students find books for checkout and then read to the students.

Following is the library schedule for K, 1st, and 2nd grade:

Wednesdays
AM Kindergarten: 8:30 – 8:50am
2nd Grade: 1:50 – 2:20pm
PM Kindergarten: 2:20 – 2:50pm

Thursdays
1st Grade: 12:20 – 12:50pm

Raging Waves Fitness Logs are due Friday.

Turn in your completed Raging Waves Fitness Log by this Friday, April 5th.

Each student completing the program requirements between February 11th –April 5th will receive a FREE full day admission pass to Raging Waves, located in Yorkville.

STUDENTS: Keep track of your exercise by coloring one item on the fitness log for every 30 minutes you exercise. Complete 25 hours of exercise between February 11th – April 5th.

PARENTS/GUARDIANS: Print the log listed below and help track your child's fitness, then sign the form and send it back to school or email to the School Coordinator, Deb (Galloway) Strama at dastrama@gmail.com by April 5th.

Cardio Kids starts next Tuesday, April 9th.


Cardio Kids will begin it's spring session next Tuesday, April 9th.

Students in Grades K-5 are encouraged to join Mrs. Gorman, Mr. Bartelt and Mrs. Rehor on Tuesdays and Thursdays for a morning walk, jog, or run.

  • DATES: Tuesday and Thursdays (April 9th-May 17th)
  • TIME: 7:45-8:05am
  • PLACE: Warm-up begins in the gymnasium. Participants will walk/run on Blythe Park walking path.
  • FINAL RUN: Friday, May 17th at 8:30am (before ACES Walk)

*NOTE: All parents/guardians are welcome to participate but parents/guardians of students in kindergarten and first grade MUST be present to walk or run with their child.

The mission of this club is to meet students at their fitness level and show them how to develop stamina, strength, and speed. Other goals of the club include building friendships and a strong school community.

Bring out the scientist in your child and be a part of the PTA Science Fair on Thursday, April 25th at 5:30pm (prior to Spring Open House).

Need to Know Details

  • Participation is open to Kindergarten – 5th Grade.
  • Students will conduct their own science experiments and create their display board at home.
  • Students may work individually or in a group of no more than two students.
  • Each student's display will be setup on a card table in the gym.
  • There will be no judging.
  • Participation is optional.
  • Each student will receive a participation award.

Half-size display boards will be available for purchase in the office from the PTA for $2.

Box Tops Contest – Help your child's class win a popsicl​e party!

The class with the highest number of valid Box Tops will win a POPSCILCLE PARTY for their class!

  • Box Tops can be turned in to the office at any time either in a baggie/envelope with the student's name/grade OR on collection sheets: Box Tops – Collection Sheet
  • *REMINDERIdentify your name, grade and AM/PM (for Early Learners and Kindergarten) in order to get full credit for your class in the contests.
  • Be sure the Box Tops submitted are not expired (expired Box Tops do not count towards the contest).
