The PTA Spring Bake Sale results are in… Even though this year's spring election was sparsely attended, the PTA still collected almost $200 at the Spring Bake Sale! Thanks to everyone who baked, sold or purchased baked goods!

Even though this year's spring election was sparsely attended, the PTA still collected almost $200 at the Spring Bake Sale!

Thanks to everyone who baked, sold or purchased baked goods!

Cardio Kids starts Tuesday.

Cardio Kids will begin it's spring session this Tuesday (April 9th).

Students in Grades K-5 are encouraged to join Mrs. Gorman, Mr. Bartelt and Mrs. Rehor on Tuesdays and Thursdays for a morning walk, jog, or run.

  • DATES: Tuesday and Thursdays (April 9th-May 17th)
  • TIME: 7:45-8:05am
  • PLACE: Warm-up begins in the gymnasium. Participants will walk/run on Blythe Park walking path.
  • FINAL RUN: Friday, May 17th at 8:30am (before ACES Walk)

*NOTE: All parents/guardians are welcome to participate but parents/guardians of students in kindergarten and first grade MUST be present to walk or run with their child.

The mission of this club is to meet students at their fitness level and show them how to develop stamina, strength, and speed. Other goals of the club include building friendships and a strong school community.

HELPERS NEEDED – Parent/guardian helpers are needed to handout lap markers or patrol the course to ensure student safety.

Kids Yoga – Session 4 starts Wednesday.

Sign-up for Kids Yoga – Session 4! Classes start this Wednesday (April 10th).

Stephanie Roldan from Blissful Owl will instruct Kids Yoga classes on Wednesdays from 3:00 – 3:45 pm in the Blythe Park Gym for boys and girls in Kindergarten – 5th Grade.

Young Author Books on display next week at the Riverside Public Library.

The Blythe Park 2018-19 Young Author Books will be on display next week from April 15th – April 19th at the Riverside Public Library in the children's section.

SAVE THE DATE –
Young Author Celebration on Wednesday, May 8th from 3:30-5:30pm at Hauser Junior High School.

The celebration will feature a visit from the Child's Play Touring Theater.

PTA Standing Rules changes for review – Comment deadline is April 14th.

Over the course of this year, the PTA Executive Board descriptions in Blythe Park PTA's Standing Rules were reviewed and updated.

Attached for review by the general membership are the proposed changes to Article VII – Duties of Officers, Sections 1-5 in the Blythe Park PTA Standing Rules.

The proposed changes will be voted on at the PTA general membership meeting on Tuesday, April 16th at 8:30am.

The PTA has two documents that guide the organization in conducting business – the Bylaws and the Standing Rules.

The Standing Rules outline the procedures of the association with specific details that are not included in the Bylaws.

Save the date for Blythe Park's Spring Open House on Thursday, April 25th.

The evening will start with the Science Fair from 5:30-6:30 pm in the gym followed by visiting your child's classroom.

Kindergarten-Fifth Grade: Open House Schedule

  • 5:30 – 6:30 pm – Science Fair (gymnasium)
  • 6:30 – 7:30 pm – Kindergarten – 5th Grade Open House
  • 7:15 pm – Fifth Grade Tug-of-War (amphitheater)

PTA Science Fair is April 25th – Register your scientist.

Bring out the scientist in your child and be a part of the PTA Science Fair on Thursday, April 25th at 5:30pm (prior to Spring Open House).

Need to Know Details

  • Participation is open to Kindergarten – 5th Grade.
  • Students will conduct their own science experiments and create their display board at home.
  • Students may work individually or in a group of no more than two students.
  • Each student's display will be setup on a card table in the gym.
  • There will be no judging.
  • Participation is optional.
  • Each student will receive a participation award.

Display Boards Available
Half-size display boards will be available for purchase in the office from the PTA for $2.
