Blythe Park PTA Happenings 04/27/2021

Bring out the scientist in your child by signing up for the Blythe Park Science Fair! Students will do their experiment and create their display board at home. The science fair will be held outside in the amphitheater and on the tennis court. In the event of inclement weather the event will move to Zoom and students will still be able to present. Students can bring their display board to school on the 29th and will set up right after school. Questions? This year's Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week theme is “Teaching Is Your Superpower”. We are lucky to have them teaching our children! Please join the PTA in celebrating the Teachers and Staff at Blythe Park. We're excited to treat our teachers/staff to treats throughout the week as well as personalized gifts and a “Teaching Is My Superpower” tee shirt to commemorate this year. The week's schedule is below. Please check out the signup genius if you'd like to contribute a food/drink item. Unfortunately we aren't offering homemade items this year. Everything will be prepacked and individual size. If you would like to help in another way please contact Jill Crist at 773-758-0210 (text is best).

Sunday May 2nd – chalk the sidewalk starting at 430pm. BYOC (Bring Your Own Chalk) and kids to help decorate the sidewalks and entrances at school.

Monday May 3rd – Teachers/Staff receive “jar of notes and candy”. Monday, May 3 kicks off Staff Appreciation Week here at Blythe. Our staff are true super heroes, especially this year with all the expected ups and downs! What better way to show our appreciation then to write a positive note to our teachers and staff!

As a start to the week, we are giving each staff member a jar of positive notes on why we think they are a super hero or what their super power is. Please have your student write on a colored sticky note or a small colored piece of paper to their teacher or a special staff member the following:

Your super power is _______________

They can also draw a small picture!

***Please send back to school in a sealed envelope, Attn: Sarah Leone, by Friday, April 30.***

Tuesday May 4th – Breakfast of Champions (sign up to bring a breakfast beverage)
Wednesday May 5th – Power Up Super Heros! (sign up to bring power bars/snacks and drinks)
Thursday May 6th – Principal Lunch (Mrs. Gorman's treats the staff to lunch)
Friday May 7th – Teachers and Staff receive a “Teaching is my Superpower” t-shirt!

The spring craft is coming home this week. We have a bird feeder project. Remote families can pick up their kit at the office.

Zoom in at 4pm on Tuesday May 4th to build the craft with friends. Tiffany Uribe will lead the zoom DIY craft.

This end-of-the-year celebration allows families to come together to enjoy a safe, fun event! Students will run around the building and get sprayed with color.

We are pleased to announce the candidates for next year's PTA Executive Board.

Due to the COVID 19 meeting restrictions, we will not be holding an election in person. If anyone chooses to nominate an additional candidate or contrary to the presented slate they can do so by email until 7 PM April 21st. Contact Jill Crist chicagolmt@gmail.com.
