Blythe Park PTA Happenings 06/07/2021

Sign up now, spots are almost full! We know the colors from the color run don't stay once we wash them, so we are setting up our PTA Tie Dye station for the kids. Have them Bring their Rainbow Run shirts. We can't wait to have you!!

• The morning of Thursday, June 10, will be dedicated to our annual Field Day. This year's in-person theme is “Flavors of Ice Cream”. Each classroom will be assigned an ice cream flavor and will be asked to wear a specific colored shirt. The list of grade levels and corresponding ice cream flavors and t-shirt colors as noted below.
  • Kinder: Neapolitan- Gray Shirt
  • 1st: Double Chocolate Chip- Green Shirt
  • 2nd: Mango- Red Shirt
  • 3rd: Rainbow Sherbet- Black Shirt
  • 4th: Chocolate Chip- White Shirt
  • 5th: Cookies & Cream- Blue Shirt/5th Grade Shirt
• Two field day sessions will take place on Thursday morning. Students will stay with their classmates and rotate through the stations. Masks will be worn by all students, teachers, and PTA volunteers.

One more reminder to send school materials that have been at home throughout this school year (and possibly last school year) back to Blythe Park. Textbooks, ReadyGen Text Collections, Math in Focus textbooks, math manipulatives, library books, etc. should be returned to your child's classroom teacher. Please note that student workbooks and other consumable materials do not need to be returned.

Remote students should place all their material in a bag, labeled with their name, grade level and remote teacher's name.

Supply Drop-off Bins are outside the main entrance of the school.

Blythe Park Families,

Please consider signing up to water the Prairie Garden and Butterfly Garden on the west side of the school by June 1. We need one family per week to turn on the soaker hoses for a total of 2 hours each. The gardens need this activity performed 3 times per week preferably every other day.
After the sign-ups are full, we will send home more specific directions and a special key for the water access. Look for this note and key in your child's backpack the week of June 7. We currently need people for the weeks of 8/2, 8/9 and 8/16.

We need 3 current PTA members to volunteer for an audit for John Bowes. The commitment is as follows:

The committee should plan to conduct the audit in the two-week period between August 3 – 17. This will consist of 1-2 meetings. This will be an in-person meeting. You must be a PTA member in good standing.
