Un "exemple pour l'humanité" en Turquie

An "exemplary attitude for humanity" in Turkey

Merci beaucoup Vural :-)
The diplomat Namık Kemal Yolga (1914-2001) was vice-consul at the Turkish Embassy in France in 1940 under the Vichy regime during WW II.
The Turkish Post has dedicated a stamp, issued on October 20, 2009, in its series "An exemplary attitude for humanity" to remind his decisive role when he rescued thousands of Jews from deportation by granting them a Turkish passport.
It is the portrait of this "Turkish Schindler" that is featured on the left's stamp on the cover below mailed on March 11 (?), 2011 from the town of Nazilli (western country).
Thank you very much Vural :-)

The background of this stamp refering to the deportation of Jews by train to concentration camps...
The other stamp to the right is part of a series of six stamps, issued on May 3, 2007, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the creation of the Fenerbahçe Sports Club in Istanbul.
The Fenerbahçe football team is the best known but this club also includes important basketball, volleyball, swimming teams...
I don't really know exactly what is featured on this stamp ? Maybe the meeting of the three personalities (Ziya Songülen, Ayetullah Bey et Enver Necip Okaner) who founded the club in 1907 ?
To note finally that since January 2009, the stamps issued by the Turkish Post mention only nominal values in kuruş (instead of "yeni kuruş" referring to the new Turkish lira in circulation since 2005)...
