World Book Day in China
En 1995, l'UNESCO a décidé de célébrer, chaque 23 avril, la Journée mondiale du livre et du droit d'auteur. L'objectif de cette journée étant de promouvoir, dans le monde entier, la lecture, l'industrie éditoriale ainsi que la protection de la propriété intellectuelle à travers le droit d'auteur...
Ce jour du 23 avril n'a pas été choisi au hasard puisque les grands auteurs Cervantes ou Shakespeare sont décédés ce jour-là (1616) alors que d'autres, Vladimir Nabokov, Maurice Druon ou le prix Nobel islandais Halldor Laxness sont nés un 23 avril !

That day of April 23 was not chosen randomly as the two great writers Cervantes and Shakespeare died on that day (both in 1616) while others, Vladimir Nabokov, Maurice Druon or Iceland's Nobel Prize Halldor Laxness were all born on April 23 !
La poste chinoise a commémoré cette journée mondiale du livre en émettant, le 23 avril 2011, une timbre spécial évoquant les pages d'un livre qui se tournent et un globe terrestre rappelant la dimension internationale de ce jour.
Ce timbre, conçu par Hao Ou, figure sur le joli FDC officiel ci-dessus posté depuis la ville de Shanghai. Merci beaucoup Jia Yi :-)
Cette enveloppe illustrée numérotée (n° 39213) émise à 200000 exemplaires, ainsi que le cachet spécial ("1er Jour" ?), ont été conçus par Shao Lichen.
J'ai déjà évoqué dans des messages précédents les 2 timbres courants ("environnement" et "oiseaux") qui complètent l'affranchissement ci-dessus.
The China Post has commemorated that World Book Day by issuing, on April 23, 2011, a special stamp referring to the turning pages of a book and a globe reminding the international dimension of that Day.
This stamp, designed by Hao Ou, appears on the nice official FDC above mailed from the city of Shanghai. Thank you very much Jia Yi :-)
This illustrated numbered (No. 39213) enveloppe, issued to 200,000 copies, and the special postmark (a FDC cancellation ?), were both designed by Shao Lichen.
I've already mentioned in previous posts the two definitive stamps ("environment" and "birds") added on the postage above.

Merci beaucoup Gilberto pour cette jolie lettre postée le 16 mai 2011 de la province de Limón, située le long de la côte de la mer des Caraïbes, dans l'est du pays :-)
Cette lettre est en fait une enveloppe pré-timbrée faisant référence à la philatélie de la jeunesse ("filatelia joven") avec un timbre (faciale : 300 colons) reproduisant un dessin d'enfant (Cinthya Davis).
Je ne sais malheureusement pas quand ce PAP a été exactement émis par la poste costaricaine ?

Thank you very much Gilberto for this nice cover mailed on May 16, 2011 from the Province of Limón, located along the coast of the Caribbean Sea in Eastern country :-)
This letter is in fact a prepaid cover devoted to youth philately ("filatelia joven") with a stamp (300 Colones) reproducing a child's drawing (by Cinthya Davis).
I do not know, unfortunately when this postal stationery was exactly issued by the Costa Rican Post ?
Gilberto a complété son affranchissement avec un timbre à 200 colons faisant partie d'une série de 4 timbres, émis le 4 mai 2010 dans un bloc-feuillet, consacrés à des trains datant de différentes époques ayant circulé dans le pays, une locomotive à vapeur fabriquée en Angleterre en 1889 ici.
Les 2 derniers timbres à gauche (155 colons chacun) constituent la série, émise le 27 novembre 2006, consacrée au 100ème anniversaire de l'adoption des 2 symboles nationaux, le drapeau et les armoiries.
A noter que les couleurs bleu, blanc, rouge du drapeau seraient inspirées du drapeau français ;)
Les armoiries, incluses sur le drapeau, évoquent les 2 mers qui bordent le pays (océan pacifique et mer des Caraïbes), les 3 chaînes de montagnes du pays, ainsi que les 7 provinces du pays symbolisées par des étoiles.
Gilberto has completed his postage with a stamp (200 Colones) part of a series of four stamps, issued on May 4, 2010 in a souvenir sheet, devoted to trains from different periods having circulated in the country, a steam locomotive made in England in 1889 here.
The last two stamps to the left (155 Colones each) are the series, issued on November 27, 2006, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the adoption of the two national symbols, flag and coat of arms.
To note that the three blue, white and red colours of the flag would be inspired by the French flag ;)
The arms, which are included on the state flag, evoke the two seas that border the country (Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Sea), the three mountain ranges of the country, as well as the 7 Provinces of Costa Rica, symbolized by stars.
EUROPA 2011 stamp from France
Après les livres d'enfants en 2010 et avant le mystérieux thème "Visitez..." en 2012, l'association postale européenne PostEurop a donc choisi le thème des Forêts concernant les timbres EUROPA émis en 2011.
Comme les années précédentes (sauf en 2009 avec un bloc de 2 timbres "Astronomie"), la poste française a émis, le 9 mai 2011 (journée de l'Europe), un timbre EUROPA unique incluant une faciale de 0,75€ (lettre jusqu'à 20g vers les pays de l'UE + Suisse, Liechtenstein, Saint-Marin, Vatican).
C'est ce timbre qui figure sur la lettre ci-dessous postée le 23 mai 2011de la poste principale de ma ville de Lyon :-)
After Children's books in 2010 and before the mysterious theme "Visit..." in 2012, the European Association PostEurop has chosen the theme of Forests for the EUROPA stamps issued in 2011.
As in previous years (except 2009 with a sheet of two "Astronomy" stamps), the French Post has issued on May 9, 2011 (Europe Day), a single EUROPA stamp including a value of € 0,75 (letter up to 20g to EU's countries + Switzerland, Liechtenstein, San Marino, Vatican).
This is this stamp that appears on the letter below mailed on May 23, 2011 from the main post office of Lyon, my hometown :-)
Christian Broutin, le créateur de ce timbre, a choisi d'évoquer, via différentes feuilles en forme d'arbre, certaines essences d'arbres parmi les plus répandues des forêts françaises.
On retrouve ainsi sur ce timbre, de gauche à droite, la feuille ovale du hêtre (11% des forêts en France), la fougère arborescente (symbolisant les forêts tropicales des territoires français d'outremer), le chêne vert, le mélèze et le chêne pédonculé (12% des forêts en France).
Les forêts recouvrent environ 30% du territoire de la France avec 64% de feuillus et 36% de conifères.
L'écosystème spécifique des forêts tempérées européennes est également évoqué sur ce timbre avec des champignons, un écureuil et un geai.
Christian Broutin, the designer of this stamp, has chosen to evoke, through different tree-shaped leaves, some tree species among the most popular of French forests.
You can find, from left to right, an oval leave of beech (11% of forests in France), fern tree (symbolizing the rainforests of French overseas territories), holm oak, European larch and English oak (12% of forests in France).
Forests cover about 30% of the territory of France with 64% deciduous trees and 36% conifer trees.
The unique ecosystem of temperate European forests is also featured on this stamp with mushrooms, a squirrel and a jay.
A noter que, dans le dernier catalogue Phil@poste n°50 (mars-mai 2011), une information intéressante concernait l'émission de ce timbre EUROPA.
Le scan ci-dessus vous permet ainsi de visualiser le timbre à date "1er Jour", le document philatélique et la gravure associés à ce timbre.
Mais il permet surtout d'avoir un aperçu, en bas à droite, des 3 autres maquettes de ce timbre EUROPA, non retenues par la poste française !
Je trouve que le timbre retenu était effectivement le plus réussi des 4 !
To note that, in the last Phil@poste N° 50 catalogue (March-May 2011), an interesting information concerned the issue of this EUROPA stamp.
The scan above is allowing you to have a look on the FDC cancellation, the philatelic document and the engraving associated with this stamp.
But you've also a glimpse, at the bottom right, of the other three EUROPA stamp proposals, finally not selected by the French Post !
I find that the stamp chosen was actually the most successful of the four !
